A & S Electrical Services is seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team. The role involves accurately estimating the cost of electrical projects, including materials, labor, and other expenses. The Cost Estimator will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients to gather pricing information and create detailed bids. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience with estimating software, particularly McCormick Systems, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, and other necessary expenses.
• Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bids based on project specifications and ensure all costs are accounted for.
• Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors to gather pricing for materials, equipment, and labor to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
• Bid Walk-throughs: Attend project walk-throughs to assess scope of work and provide accurate estimations.
• Documentation: Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documents for future reference.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that estimates align with project requirements and specifications.
• Cost Control: Monitor and track project costs to ensure adherence to the budget during project execution.
• Revision of Estimates: Adjust estimates based on changes to project scope or requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in cost estimating for electrical projects. Experience using estimating software, particularly McCormick Systems, is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and components.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to review project specifications thoroughly and provide accurate cost breakdowns.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain detailed records.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Time Management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Self-Motivated: Strong initiative and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and reliability.
