A & S Electrical Services, a well-established medium-sized electrical contracting company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team. We specialize in a range of projects, including commercial, residential, and light industrial work. The Electrical Designer will play a crucial role in designing electrical systems and ensuring the accuracy and feasibility of all electrical plans.

Responsibilities

• Electrical System Design: Design electrical systems for commercial, residential, and light industrial projects, ensuring that all designs meet project specifications, safety codes, and regulations.
• Collaborative Design Development: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand the scope of the project and provide effective, cost-efficient designs.
• Blueprint and Layout Creation: Prepare detailed electrical plans, schematics, and layout drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.), ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to specify electrical materials and equipment, considering factors such as pricing, availability, and compatibility with project requirements.
• Code Compliance: Ensure that all electrical designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Design Revisions: Modify and revise designs as necessary based on feedback from clients, engineers, or during project development.
• Quality Assurance: Perform thorough checks and reviews of designs, ensuring accuracy and that all components meet the intended functional and safety standards.
• Project Support: Assist the project team during construction by providing clarification and adjustments to designs, as needed, to address on-site challenges.
• Documentation: Maintain and organize all design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revisions, for future reference and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as an electrical designer, with hands-on expertise in designing electrical systems for commercial, residential, and light industrial projects.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical design principles, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical panel layouts.
• Design Software Proficiency: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other relevant design tools used for electrical layout and system design.
• Code Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards, including NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all electrical designs.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges and implement solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients.
• Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and revisions simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Time Management: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
