A & S Electrical Services is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. This position involves preparing cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including commercial, residential, and light industrial work. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans, working with vendors, and collaborating with project managers to create accurate and competitive bids. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Estimates: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other project-specific costs.
• Review Plans: Examine project blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accurate pricing and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with Vendors: Work with suppliers and subcontractors to gather competitive pricing for materials and services needed for the project.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit comprehensive bids that align with client requirements and project specifications.
• Attend Walk-throughs: Participate in bid walk-throughs to assess project scope and gain insight into specific project needs.
• Cost Control: Monitor project budgets during execution and track any changes that may affect the overall cost estimate.
• Documentation: Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and related project documents.
• Client Communication: Communicate with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to address any questions or concerns related to cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a construction estimator, preferably with a focus on electrical projects. Familiarity with estimating software, such as McCormick Systems, is a plus.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, materials, and labor costs associated with electrical work.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure all estimates are accurate and comprehensive.
• Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, track deadlines, and maintain detailed records.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to assess project requirements and identify cost-effective solutions that meet client expectations.
